주말에 예전 글들 보다가 발견한... TomeNET 처음 접했을때 어느 커뮤니티에 남긴 스샷과 소개 글.

 

지금 하고 있는 게임입니다.

예전에 Nethack, ADOM 등의 로그라이크 게임을 기억 하시는 분은

아실지도 모르겠네요.

 

TomeNET (Troubles of Middle Earth Net)

Angband 아류작을 온라인 버젼으로 만든 것입니다.

 

기본 설정은 반지전쟁을 기초로하여 사루만, 모르고쓰를 처단하는게 목적이구요.

제가 택한 종족은 아라곤과 같은 두나단족 입니다.

 

지금 오크 던젼에서 갑자기 스폰된 몬스터에게 죽어서

고스트가 된후에 다른 플레이어에게

부활을 받는 중이네요 ㅋ

 

스샷은 죽을때 아이템을 전부다 바닥에 떨구는데

안전하게 주울수있게 사방에 벽을 만들어 주고 가네요.

 

유럽서버라 그런지 새벽에 15 명 정도 되더군요.

 

Angband, ToME, TomeNET 에 등장하는 유니크 D 몬스터들에 대해서 적어보겠습니다. 일단 Mikaelh 의 스포일러 사이트에서 드래곤과 드래곤라이더 유니크를 추려보면...

# Angband Variants 에서의 드래곤들

톨킨의 저서에서 등장하는 유니크 캐릭터는 바닐라 Angband 게임 시절부터 도입되었습니다.

Scatha : 스카사. [반지의 제왕 3편] 에오윈이 메리에게 주는 가보의 출처로 언급됨. 회색산맥의 용. 프람에게 죽음.
Itangast : 이탄가스트. [톨킨의 호빗의 전설편] 자료집에 나오는 용으로 간주되네요.
Smaug : 스마우그. [호빗] 중간계 최후의 용. 빌보 배긴스에 의해 약점이 알려져 바르드에게 죽음.
Glaurung : 글라우룽. [실마릴리온] 모르고스 최초의 용. 용들의 아버지. 투린에게 죽음.
Ancalagon : 앙칼라곤. [실마릴리온] 모르고스의 용들 중에서 가장 뛰어난 용. 에아렌딜에게 죽음.

톨킨의 중간계 세계관에서의 드래곤은 악의 화신인 모르고스의 창조물이라는 설정.

소설 호빗에 등장하는 스마우그의 경우 중간계에서 최후로 남은 한마리의 용인데요. 스마우그는 에레보르의 외로운 산에 거주하던 드워프의 왕국을 강탈하여 자신의 은신처를 마련하여 살고, 금을 비롯한 각종 보물을 탐하는 가공할만한 파워와 힘을 가진 생물로 그려집니다. 게다가 머리가 매우 뛰어나고, 눈치가 빠르고, 감지력도 좋은 특성이 바로 용이지요. 그러나 너무 거만하고 자만심이 강하여 절대반지를 낀 빌보 배긴스한테 약점을 들켜서 인간인 바르드의 활에 맞아 죽게 됩니다.

용 스카사의 경우엔 반지의 제왕 3편 왕의 귀환에서 에오윈이 메리에게 작별 기념으로 가문의 가보인 고대의 뿔나팔을 선물하는데 그 출처를 설명하면서 잠깐 이름 정도만 언급 됩니다. 메리가 받은 고대의 뿔나팔은 샤이어 전투에서 유용하게 사용 되었죠.

그외 글라우룽, 앙칼라곤은 실마릴리온에서 소개가 되고요.

게임에서는 톨킨의 용 말고도 몇몇 신화에서 등장하는 유명한 용들도 나오는데 Angband 에는 없었으나 Zangband 게임에서 추가되었습니다.

 

Fafner : 파프너(= fafnir 파프니르). 니벨룽겐의 반지. 용으로 변신한 거인. 지크프리트에 의해 죽음.

Nidhogg : 니드호그. 북유럽 신화. 죽은 자의 육체와 세계수 이그드라실을 갉아먹고 살며 라그나로크 때 출연.
Tiamat : 티아맷 or 티아마트. 바빌론 신화. 원초의 혼돈과 바다의 신. 알도크와 싸울때 드래곤의 모습으로 변신.

 

각종 게임에서 드래곤은 유니크를 제외한 일반 드래곤 몬스터는 계열은 나이와 크기에 따라 Baby Dragon → Young Dragon → Mature Dragon → Ancient Dragon → Great Wyrm 등급이 나뉘고 각 등급에서 드래곤의 색깔별로 다시 나뉩니다.

이러한 분류는 기본적인건 D&D 에서 많이 차용했을 것 같네요. 거기에 Angband 게임의 브레쓰 종류와 맞물려서 없앨건 없애고 다양하게 추가하거나 확장했다고 볼 수 있고요. 그외 드래곤류는 Wyvern, Drake, Dragon turtle → Fastitocalon(톨킨의 창작물. 사실 드래곤은 아니고 거대한 드래곤 형상의 터틀 피쉬), Dracolich(스켈레톤 드래곤), Dracolisk(드래곤+바실리스크) 도 있습니다.

# 톰넷의 드래곤라이더들
TomeNET에서 드래곤라이더는 앤 맥카프리 SF 판타지 저서 PERN 퍼언 시리즈에 나오는 캐릭터 입니다.
Zangband 를 기반으로 개발된 ToME 의 원래 이름이었던 PernAngband 게임 시절에 도입된 세계관인데 저작권 문제로 ToME 에서는 모두 삭제되었으나 TomeNET 에는 아직 남아 있습니다. 드래곤라이더의 컨셉은 퍼언 행성에서 중간계를 내가 구하러 왔다! 정도인데 게임에서는 안타깝게도 그냥 싸워야할 몬스터로 나오죠.ㅋ

Mardra : 마드라. 400회년 전의 구시대인. 포트 용굴의 용굴모. 이후 남방으로 추방됨. (여왕 드래곤 로란스의 DR)

Sorka : 소르카. 최초의 용굴모. 파이어 리자드를 발견하여 유전 조작을 통해서 드래곤을 탄생시킴. 

퍼언 시리즈의 드래곤과 드래곤라이더는 일반적인 소설이나 RPG 에서의 그것과 개념이 다릅니다. 대략 요약하자면...
과학이 발전한 먼 미래에 은하계로 진출하여 다수의 식민지 행성을 보유한 인류... 새로운 거주 가능한 소량의 자원을 보유한 유사 행성 퍼언(P.E.R.N.)을 발견하고 소수의 적극적인 이주민들이 지구를 떠나서 그곳에 거주하게 됩니다. 퍼언에서 몇 세대에 걸쳐 목가적이고 인간적인 삶을 영위하지만 곧 치명적인 타격을 입게 되는데...

항성을 중심으로 타원 궤도를 그리며 공전하는 붉은 별에 대한 조사가 미흡했던 것이었죠. 200년을 주기로 퍼언 행성과 근접하는 붉은 별에서 치명적인 붉은 별의 외계 생명체인 사포(Thread)가 우주 공간을 넘어서 퍼언으로 날아와 퍼언의 모든 유기물을 파괴 합니다. 이 은빛의 실처럼 생긴 균근 생명체에 필사적으로 대항하는 동안 퍼언은 지구 연합과의 연락이 완전히 끊기게 됩니다.
이 사포(Thread)에 저항하기 위해서 과학기술의 잔재를 총동원한 결과 행성의 토착 생물 중 하나인 불도마뱀(Fire Lizard)을 유전자 조작을 통하여 인위적으로 거대하고 지적인 생물로 만든 것이 바로 드.래.곤. 토착 생물인 불도마뱀의 특별한 능력인 텔레포트(소설에서는 간극 Between)와 인간과의 의사 소통인 감응(Impression)은 능력은 드래곤에게도 그대로 이어 집니다.
드래곤은 부화 직후 미리 선발된 인간들 중에서 감응을 통하여 인간들을 일종의 평생 파트너로 선택하게 되고, 선택된 인간들은 드래곤라이더로 교육을 받습니다. 이렇게 연결된 드래곤과 드래곤라이더 사이에는 평생 1:1로 친밀한 유대감과 텔레파시로 의사소통을 하게 됩니다.
사포에 저항하기 위해서 드래곤이 양성되고 여러개의 용굴이 만들어지며, 드래곤과 드래곤라이더 집단은 퍼언의 지배자 계급으로서 번성하게 되지요.

TomeNET 에서 Green < Blue < Brown < Bronze < Gold 등급은 퍼언 시리즈에서의 등급을 그대로 가져왔습니다.

 

골드 드래곤 : 용굴에서 산모 역할인 여왕 드래곤. 드래곤라이더로 여성이 선발됨. 골드 드래곤라이더는 용굴모 직책.

청동 드래곤 : 골드 드래곤과 교미가 가능한 상급 드래곤. 교미 대상의 청동 드래곤의 드래곤라이더는 용굴의 수장(용굴령)이 됨.

갈색 드래곤, 청색 드래곤, 녹색 드래곤 :  하급 드래곤들. 하급으로 갈수록 사이즈가 작음.

 

퍼언 시리즈의 드래곤의 색깔은 등급 & 크기 입니다. 여왕 드래곤이 색깔별로 서로 다른 알을 낳기 때문에 출생부터 이미 정해집니다. 녹색 드래곤 알에서 부화한 녹색 드래곤이 나와서 감응에 성공한 인간이 바로 Green Dragonrider 인 것이죠. 참고로 가장 하급인 녹색 드래곤이 성장하여 청색 드래곤으로 탈바꿈하지는 않습니다.

그외에 TomeNET에서는 드래곤라이더 뿐만 아니라 Thread, 색깔별 Fire Lizard 몬스터들도 존재 합니다. 그리고 가끔 드래곤인데 (rider on) 이라는 몬스터도 출연하구요.
퍼언 시리즈 중에서 초기 3부작인 퍼언 연대기가 지난 2007년에 번역되어 출판되었는데 매우 재밌으니 한번쯤 읽어 보는 것을 강추 합니다. (1968년에 출판된 원서가 이제서야...ㅠ)

로그라이크 게임 - TomeNET : Tales of Middle Earth Multiplayer

개발자 Darkgod 이 직접 컴파일한 ToME : Tales of Middle Earth 는 v2.3.5 가 Final Release 버젼이고, 이후에 몇몇 개발자분들께서 ToME 포럼에서 마이너 업데이트를 하고는 있습니다만 2.3.5 이후 버젼은 사실 별로 의미는 없습니다.

이미 오래전에 완성된 세계관, 바닐라 Angband 를 훨씬 뛰어넘는 완성된 게임이었기 때문에 최근 Darkgod 이 기존 시리즈를 마무리 짓고 새로운 Tales of Maj'Eyal 를 선보인게 다양성 측면에서 더욱 환영할 만한 결정이 아닌가 싶어요.

한글 윈도우 XP 나 윈도우7 에서 위 스샷의 왼쪽처럼 바닥이 안 보여서 정상적인 게임 진행이 불가능 합니다. ToME v.2.3.5 옵션 파일 및 오토머타이저 등 프리셋을 첨가한 수정 배포판을 올립니다.

TomeNET 에 익숙하신 분들이 많으실 것 같아서 벽도 주석처리를 수정하여 ### 으로 바꿨습니다.

였으나 웹사이트가 사라져서 원본 게임은 Roguelike Archive 에서 다운로드 가능합니다.

위 파일은 네트핵 게시판의 연오님께서 만드신 Xenocide 한글 패치 입니다.

제노사이드는 흔하지 않은 Sci-Fi 장르의 로그라이크이고 꽤나 재밌는 게임인지라 미완성으로 개발이 종료된 점은 조금 안타깝습니다. 로그라이크에 관심 있는 국내 일부 유저분들이 완성 프로젝트를 하기도 했었는데 그것도 중단된 상태.

네트핵 게시판에 올려주셨는데, 글이 묻히다 보니 찾기가 너무 힘들어서 제 블로그에 따로 올립니다. ^^

로그의 도둑질 가이드 입니다.
작년에 서버에서 처음 도둑질 로그 T-Bag lvl 50 캐릭터를 완성하면서 정리했던 내용을 다듬어서 올려봅니다.

1. 로그 클래스 특성

로그는 로그 전용의 스킬인 Critical-Strike, Stealing, Backstabbing 뿐만 아니라 Conveyance, Air, Divination 마법까지 두루 배울 수 있으며 마법도구, 디스암, 퍼셉션 등 기본 능력이 매우 뛰어난 클래스 입니다. 그리고 로그만의 은신이 가능한 클록킹 모드가 존재합니다.

그러나 개인적으로는 로그만의 특화된 재미는 즉 훔치기에 올인하는게 가장 좋다는게 결론 입니다. 특히나 TomeNET 에서는 아이템을 보관하는 집 지킴이 캐릭터가 필요한데 로그만한게 없다고 할까요. ㅋ


2. 로그 스킬 빌드

종족 선택은 인터셉션에 보너스가 있는 휴먼-로그가 스킬수가 가장 넉넉해서 1 순위로 추천드리며 그외 두나단, 엘프, 하이엘프, 고블린 등도 무난합니다.

휴먼 로그는 50렙 기준 다음과 같은 스킬 빌드를 완성할 수 있습니다.

* 스틸형 로그 : (컴뱃 35), 웨폰 35, 소드 50, 인터셉션 50, 네크로 20, 헬스 10, 스틸링 50, (스닉 8)

대략 50렙에 어느 정도까지 완성할 수 있다는 예시일 뿐 세부적인 것은 취향에 따라서 달라지겠네요. 위 50렙을 기준으로한 스킬 빌드는 남는 포인트는 웨폰에 우선적으로 분배한 결과 입니다. ( ) 부분의 컴뱃, 스닉은 자동으로 분배된 것이며 실제 포인트는 하나도 분배하지 않은 스킬들 입니다. 대략 컴뱃이 저 정도 올라가는구나하고 예측하시면 됩니다.


3. 공식 매뉴얼의 Stealing 부분 설명

Ability to steal (from shops)! Very nasty >:) If you get caught, you will be on the 'blacklist of merchants' for a minute up to 2 hours, depending on the item you tried to steal from a shop. During this time it's impossible to steal, and you will get BAD prices (blackmarket-like) in shops.

Note that your blacklist timer won't decrease while you are /afk !! You'll also be on the 'watchlist', meaning that you can shop normally, but are unable to steal until the shopkeepers stop to watch youso intensely. The watchlist runs out slower than the blacklist, but allows you to be AFK.

Note that usually people don't want to be seen with stolen goods, which means that very expensive items, depending on their value, have a certain chance of their level becoming 0, making them untradable.

Your chance to steal an item from a shop depends on your dexterity, your stealing skill and the price and weight of the item. Stealth and invisibility are also somewhat helpful. For example it's nearly impossible to steal a large piece of wood without the store owner noticing it, although it's not worth much :)

There's always a minimum chance of 5% to fail! You need to be at least level 5 to steal. You have a chance to successfully steal an item even if your stealing skill is 0 and your dexterity low. Everyone could try to steal..

If a shop offers an item more expensive than it actually is (black market) that has no effect on stealing. The 'normal' item value is used to calculate the chances. However, if an item is offered at reduced price, it'll be easier to steal it!

It's more difficult to steal from special stores (expensive black market and especially rare footwear/jewellry/secret black market). It's a good idea to wear as many +DEX items as possible while trying to steal from a shop.

이렇게 설명을 해놨습니다. 그래서 도둑질의 난이도 결정 요소를 뽑아보면 이렇습니다.

 

아이템 가격, 아이템 무게

민첩Dex, 훔치기 스킬 >>> 스텔쓰, 투명화

 

아이템 판매 가격은 해당 샵의 가격을 따릅니다. 특히 판매 가격이 낮아지는 {on sale} 중에는 그만큼 난이도가 낮아집니다. 아이템의 무게 또한 중요한 요소로써 저렴하지만 매우 무거운 골렘 재료 같은 것도 훔치기가 거의 불가능합니다.

상식적으로 플레이어의 속도가 빠르면 더 잘 훔칠 것 같지만 매뉴얼에는 Speed 요소에 대해서는 언급이 전혀 없으니 훔치기용 아이템 세팅은 +Dex +Stl 가 붙은 에고 아이템으로 하면 됩니다. +Dex가 많으면 많을수록 좋다고 하니 킹 이후에 모르고쓰 왕관이 최고의 아이템이 됩니다.

그리고 이러한 성공률이 올라가더라도 실패 확률 5%는 항상 존재합니다.

다음 자료는 각 부위별로 +Dex, +Stl, Invisibility 를 충족시켜 주는 흔한 에고템의 훔치기 전용 아이템 세팅입니다.

반지 : Ring of Stealth (+Stl), Ring of Invisibility
아뮬 : Amulet of Serpents (+Dex)
갑옷 : Elven ***** (+Stl)

모자 : ***** of the Noldor (+Dex), Crown of Morgoth
장갑 : ***** of Agility (+Dex)
신발 : ***** of Stealth (+Stl)

4. 어떤 아이템을 훔칠 수 있나 ?

훔칠만한 아이템은 대다수 BM에 있고 무게 요소 때문에 마법책, 포션, 스크롤, 로드, 링, 아뮬렛 등 가벼운 아이템이 주로 그 대상이 됩니다. 일반적인 스크롤, 포션 류는 매우 잘 훔쳐지는 아이템들 입니다. 돈주고 사기에 부담스러운 책(Tome)이나 스탯 포션도 마찬가지로 훔치기 성공률이 높습니다. 5만 이하의 가벼운 아이템들을 BM에서 쏙쏙 빼먹는 손맛이 제법 좋습니다.

고가로 갈수록 확률은 점점 낮아지지만 아티팩트 크리에이션 스크롤, *어콰이어먼트* 스크롤, 스피드 링, 크리티컬 링, 트리커리 아뮬렛, 스피드 부츠, 텔레파시 모자, 마기 장갑 등도 훔치기가 가능합니다. 가벼운 아이템 뿐만 아니라 비교적 무거운 편인 드래곤 갑옷, 등산 세트 정도도 훔치기가 가능했습니다.

5. 훔치기 실패시 페널티

훔치기에 실패하면 일정 시간 동안 모든 상점으로부터 블랙 리스트 당하게 됩니다. 이때는 상점으로부터 아이템 구입 가격이 매우 비싸지며, 판매시 가격도 제 값을 못 받습니다. 은행의 예금 및 대출, 곤돌린의 ID샵처럼 상점의 서비스를 받는 것 또한 불가능 합니다.

블랙 리스트는 게임 내 시간으로 일정 턴이 흘러야 사라지며 상점에 들어갈때 블랙 리스트 메세지로 대략 얼마 정도 남았는지 알 수 있습니다.

미카엘h의 설명에 의하면 MAX 블랙 리스트는 1000 만턴입니다. 블랙리스트 중에 훔치기를 시도시 추가로 1000 턴씩 더 올라갑니다. TomeNET에서의 1 턴은 약 0.5초이며 1000 턴이면 8분 20초 가량입니다. 그래서 위 자료를 시간 단위로 환산하면...

훔치기 실패시 아이템 가격이 대략 1만 정도에 불과하더라도 20분 내외의 블랙리스트 타임이 적용됩니다. 10만 정도면 40분 이상 훔치기가 불가능 하고, 350만이 넘는 아티팩트 크리에이션 스크롤의 경우에도 블랙리스트 시간은 1시간 10분 남짓까지 적용 됩니다. 

주의할 점은 AFK 일때 블랙 리스트 턴이 감소되지 않으니 = 옵션 설정에서 3 번을 눌러 AFK 옵션을 꺼둡니다. 그런데 이렇게 설정하고 방치해두면 배가 고파져서 죽을 수도 있으니 매우 배부른 상태인 Gorged 까지 음식을 먹이면 1시간 이상 배고파지지 않습니다. 블랙 리스트 시간이 길고 훔친 아이템은 {100% off} 가 적용되어 재판매가 불가능하기 때문에 불필요한 아이템은 훔칠 필요가 없습니다.
